Guidelines for submitting job openings

Job Submission Guidelines

Any company, organization or University wishing to solicit to hire Department of Biostatistics & Medical Informatics alums is welcome to email a job title and link of the job description to our department webmaster for posting.

We ask when submitting a job to be posted online that you please use the following guidelines:

Please DO follow the below guidelines when writing your post:

  • Please....keep the post brief, it should not be more then two or three sentences (or lines of text). This is just an announcement so that potential employess can go to your web page or contact person for detailed information.

  • in the "Subject" line of your email please list your organization/company name and then a dash and include the text "External Job Submission". For example: XYZ Company - External Job Submission

  • when posting multiple jobs, please list ALL the job titles at the very top of the email

  • in the body of the email INCLUDE the following information:

    • full company/organization or school name, URL (link) to main web page and a physical office/building location including the city, state. Include applicable country information if outside the USA.

    • contact name, email and phone number of the person who will be fielding phone calls, receiving resumes, or emails regarding the position(s), etc.

    • a link (url) to EACH individual job description(s) and/or online application -- if they are available on the web

    • include application deadlines, where applicable

    Please be aware:

    • Jobs posted to this board will be removed automatically in this order: when links are no longer valid; after the indicated deadline; one year since original post. If the job is still open and removed for these reason you will need to resubmit the job for posting with NEW dates.

    • Feel free to list jobs that are in technical fields related to biostatistics in general, as well as biostatistics applied to pre-clinical, clinical and population health research; biomedical and clinical informatics; and statistical genetics and genomics

    Please DO NOT:

    • Include hype, slogans, a lot of buzz words, etc., in a promotional letter or other PR items that are not pertinent to the job posting.

    • Do not send separate email attachments, these are discouraged

    Here is an example of a formatted post to use as a guideline when writing your own job post for submission:

    Posted on April 2, 2011: Dow AgroSciences LLC, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA is seeking a Biostatistician.

    Deadline to apply is: April 29, 2011

    (Date job is posted to the Jobs Board, by the webmaster) Posted on April 2, 2011: (Link to the company or organization's home page) XYZ Company, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
    is seeking a (Specific Job Title) - Biostatistician.

    (specific link for applying online, or to an online description and application details) Please apply online at Biostatistician (Include a DEADLINE DATE if there is a timeline for submitting an application) Application Deadline: April 29, 2011.
