Biomedical Computing Group (BCG)
Mission

The objective of the BCG is to advance the academic research and educational missions of the Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics and the UW School of Medicine and Public Health through successful innovation, collaboration and leadership in the practical application of information technology. Within this context the BCG focuses on activities that enhance the group's ability to understand and exploit new technologies and attract and maintain a highly competent and motivated staff. The BCG is supported by the Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics, grants, contracts and service fees. The activity of the BCG is guided by the following priorities:

• To leverage the available personnel and financial resources to achieve the greatest possible benefit for both the department and the Medical School Community.
• Supporting the academic research and educational mission of the department.
• Supporting the department's collaborations within the health sciences community.
• To advance the strategic information technology objectives of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health.
• To provide high quality computing services to the Univeristy of Wisconsin health sciences community at large.
