Building a Whole New Group Design and
Statistical Considerations for the ACOSOG

ABSTRACT

The American College of Surgeons Oncology Group (ACOSOG) is a new NCI-funded oncology group focused on studies of interest to surgical oncologists. Two-year funding started in April of 1998, and the group has been successful in obtaining funding for continuation. This seminar will present an overview of the group, describe how it has chosen to design its systems in this age of the Internet, and discuss some of the unique statistical design challenges for the studies it has opened and is planning.
