Quintiles Transnational Corp. is one of the largest Contract
Research Organization (CRO) in the world. It offers pharmaceutical research services to clients, mainly pharmaceutical companies. I worked in Quintiles as a biostatistician intern during the summer 2006, and I would like to share my experience with other students in the Department, especially those who are looking for internship opportunities. I will first provide an overview of the roles of biostatisticians and the functions of Biostatistics Department in Quintiles. The advantages and
disadvantages of working in a CRO will also be discussed.
Moreover, I will describe the work of summer interns and summarize my experience with Quintiles.
