David Demets elected to Institute of Medicine (IOM)

David L. DeMets, Ph.D., Max Halperin Professor of Biostatistics--and former Chair of the Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics--is a newly elected member of the Institute of Medicine (IOM), a national resource for independent, scientifically informed analysis and recommendations on health issues facing the U.S. population. Election to the IOM is considered one of the highest honors in the fields of health and medicine. It recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and commitment to service.
