Stat 371-003: Getting started with R

Modern statistics relies on computing. For Stat 371, Introductory applied statistics for the life sciences, we will use the freely available statistical software, R.

For instructions on installing R and getting started with the software, look at one of the following.

Also take a look at the R Primer from Prof. Bret Larget.

Finally, take a look at the computer notes (for many of the lectures) at the course syllabus.

R at the campus computer labs

R is available at many of the computer labs on campus. For a list of labs that have R, go here.

I visited a few of the computer labs, and, unfortunately, found that the information on that list was not entirely accurate. Hopefully this will be corrected soon. The following is what I found during a few trips to various labs on Sept 5 and 10.
